“I want my child to receive a good education” is the quintessential mindset of every parent and they will pull out all the stops to obtain information that will aid their child in securing a good head start to their learning journey. The annual “Choosing the Right Primary School for My First Born” sharing session conducted by SHHK provides such a platform for members to understand more about the Primary One registration process so as to make informed decisions in ensuring the school is suitable for their child.
The sharing session held on 8 Oct 16 at the SHHK Multi-Purpose Hall attracted more than a hundred members including new members who attended the New Members’ Gathering in the morning.
During the session, three guest speakers – Ms Sheryl Ang, Mr Glenn Neo and Mr Ong Eng Hui shared insights on the registration process in Phase 2B and 2C based on their previous experiences. SHHK Secretary-General, Ms Sim Bee Hia, shared details of the Phase 2B recommendation process and past years exercises. She emphasized on the importance of selecting the most suitable school in bringing out the child’s potential. Topics ranging from volunteer hours to the types of volunteer work available were discussed during the Q&A session.
At the end of the sharing session, members were enriched with a clearer understanding of Phase 2B and 2C procedures and the necessary know-hows to prepare for the registration process for their child.
