The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences building at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) was named the “Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan Building” on 19 Oct 2019.
The LEAP Award was launched by the late former President S R Nathan in 2011 and awarded by Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan annually to recognise exceptional teachers who have made a positive impact in nurturing their students from the heart.

The finals of National Primary School Chinese Story-Telling Competition was successfully concluded on 2 August 2019 at Seletar Mall. This is the first time this 15-year competition was held at a shopping mall in a bid to reach out to a wider audience.
The 43rd Council Retreat was held from 1 to 3 March 2019 in Xiamen. A total of 27 SHHK Council and Committee members, as well as 7 management staff from SHHK, SHHKCA and SCDT, attended the event.

SHHK held its annual Spring Reception on 16 February 2019 at its 5 Sennett Road premises. The event serves to engage its members and renew shared ties amongst the Chinese clan associations, Chinese community and business leaders, its close partners.
