Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan (SHHK) held its annual Spring Reception on 16 February 2019 at its 5 Sennett Road premises. The event serves to engage its members and renew shared ties amongst the Chinese clan associations, Chinese community and business leaders, its close partners. Guest-of-Honour was Mr Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry.

At the event, SHHK announced a new collaboration in future tech education with Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding. SHHK 6 affiliated schools and its Cultural Academy would be looking at co-developing school-based programmes with SUTD to build its students’ capabilities in future technology, design-thinking and innovation from young. This new collaboration signifies SHHK’s continued commitment towards education and well-illustrates the inventive, explorative and enterprising spirit of the Hokkiens.
