Ladies and Gentlemen, a very good evening!
On behalf of the Organising Committee for the Hokkien Huay Kuan 185th Anniversary Celebrations, I would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to President Tharman and Ms. Jane Ittogi for gracing this evening’s dinner with your presence.
We are equally honoured to welcome the Hokkien members of the Chinese Community Liaison Group, Senior Minister of State Ms. Sim Ann, Members of Parliament Mr. Liang Eng Hwa, Ms. Gho Sze Kee, Ms. Choo Pei Ling, as well as our esteemed alumni, Ms. Valerie Lee and Mr. Cai Yinzhou. Thank you for joining us on this special occasion. Your presence adds great meaning to our celebration, and we are truly grateful.
My deepest appreciation also goes to all the performers and to the teachers who have spent months preparing our students for tonight’s wonderful show. Let us give them another round of applause for their hard work and dedication!
Although this evening also marks our annual Teachers’ Day Dinner, many of our teachers have continued to give their time and energy to guide and support the students in these performances. Your commitment is truly admirable, and we thank you sincerely.
To all our guests: 各位闽属会馆以及华社同仁,衷心感谢大家今晚的出席。Gam xia dai geh! A big thank you for being part of this milestone celebration. We hope you enjoyed the performances by our talented students and professional artists. If there were any shortcomings in our arrangements, we seek your kind understanding. 有什么招待不周的地方,请大家多多包涵!
To my fellow Hokkien Huay Kuan Council members: this milestone would not have been possible without your unwavering support and trust. We are also incredibly grateful to your generous sponsors and donors. Your belief in our cause and your financial support have been vital in making tonight’s celebration not only possible but also truly spectacular. Thank you for your immense generosity.
My deepest thanks must go to the 185th Anniversary Organising Committee. This event did not happen by magic. For the past months, this dedicated team of volunteers has worked tirelessly, often behind the scenes, sacrificing their personal time and energy. They have dealt with countless details; from the décor you see to the programme you will enjoy. Please accept my deepest gratitude.
Lastly, a big thank you to the amazing staff team for going above and beyond to make this event a truly memorable success.
President Tharman will be taking his leave shortly. Once again, we extend our sincere thanks to him and Ms. Ittogi for joining us this evening.
Thank you all, and have a wonderful night ahead.
