各位女士、先生们：

大家下午好！

首先，欢迎大家出席由新加坡福建会馆主办的第十四届飞跃教师奖颁奖典礼暨讲座。

今年福建会馆欢庆创会185周年，特别颁发20份飞跃奖，同时举办讲座，邀请福建会馆属校三个不同年代的校友分享学习历程，展现会馆对教育的支持。

十年树木、百年树人。教育一直是福建会馆最重要的社会使命。早在1849年，福建先贤就在天福宫旁创办了“崇文阁”，学者公认是新加坡最早的华社公共教育机构。1854年成立的萃英书院，也为本地教育服务了100年。1906年成立的道南学校，明年将迎来建校120周年；爱同学校则将在2027年欢庆115周年；1915年创办的崇福女校，也就是今天的崇福学校，今年刚刚庆祝110周年校庆。战后创办的南侨中学和小学，以及光华学校，也都有超过70年的历史。

六所历史悠久的属校至今仍然非常受家长欢迎，这是对福建会馆，对历届校长、老师肯定。学校办得好，需要董事部的支持，更需要优秀校长的领导和老师们辛勤付出。在此，我谨代表福建会馆属校董事部，向各位校长、老师和所有职员，表示衷心的感谢，因为大家的辛勤耕耘，我们下一代的未来，有了最好的保障。

在此，我也要特别感谢三位分享嘉宾，今天特地光临“寒校”，说是“寒校”，因为没有电梯。我听说教育部正在探讨为南侨中学增设电梯，我们期待教育部的好消息。

今天到场的李元瑾校友，小学、中学、大学都是就读于会馆属校，小学在爱同，中学和高中在南侨女中，大学在南洋大学，是我的学长。国立教育学院研究生课程及专业发展院副院长陈志锐博士，和讲座的主持人、作家和时事评论员白胜辉先生一样，是南侨小学的校友。今天最年轻的分享嘉宾，社会企业家蔡引舟议员，是道南学校的校友。希望蔡校友能从年轻人的角度，分享母语教育对个人成长的影响，对年轻人来说，母语教育重要吗？价值在哪里？

Ladies and gentlemen, although we have “live” interpretation today, in the spirit of multi-culturalism, allow me to say a few words in English.

First of all, a big thank you to everyone for attending today’s ceremony. We are honoured to have invited 4 of our alumni to share at the Seminar, and we hope that regardless of the subject you are teaching, all of you will be able to garner nuggets of wisdom from the speakers and moderator – Dr Lee Guan Kin and Dr Tan Chee Lay, who are very experienced educators themselves; Mr Peh Shing Huei, very well-connected and well-travelled; and Member of Parliament, social entrepreneur Mr Cai Yinzhou who will share with us thoughts for the future.

We have a very pack programme today, with Minister Desmond Lee arriving at around 4pm for the Award Ceremony. I hope all of you, especially the LEAP Award winners, will have a wonderful time celebrating with your colleagues, friends and family. Our heartfelt congratulations to all the Award winners today. And to all teachers – I want to wish everyone in advance – Happy Teachers Day!
